Valery Valentinovich Shmarov(February 23, Voronezh) - Soviet and Russian football player, forward.

Career

Club

He started playing football at the Voronezh sports school with coach Vladimir Evgenievich Nikitenko. In 1982, he made his debut for Fakel in the First League, as a cadet at the Voronezh Higher Military Aviation Engineering School, in a match against Spartak Kostroma. In the next game against Guria he scored the first goal in professional career . In 1984, Spartak coach Konstantin Ivanovich Beskov drew attention to the player (especially after the USSR Cup game, when Fakel beat the Muscovites). However, in the same year, Shmarov was drafted into the army and, according to the directive, was sent to Khabarovsk. He spent five months in Khabarovsk SKA, played for the reserve team under a different name - Igor Protasov (who was injured at that time), scored 11-12 goals, which helped Protasov become the third top scorer of the tournament. In 1985 he played for CSKA, which was relegated from the Major League the year before. That season he became the top scorer, scoring 29 times in 40 matches. However, the team failed to directly qualify for the top league and had to play in a transition tournament. After the failure of the first two games, Shmarov was expelled from the team and sent to the barracks. He served in the army until December 31, 1985, after which he was demobilized. After CSKA he returned to Voronezh for a year. Together with the team, he was supposed to return to the major league, but in one of the decisive games against the Moscow Lokomotiv, the team was “killed” by the judges - Fakel was not counted for 3 goals scored, and the Voronezh team lost 0:2. In 1987, he decided to move to Moscow Spartak, where he successfully played for 5 years, becoming a champion twice, scoring in the final match of the 1989 championship in the last minute with a “golden goal” against Dynamo Kyiv. In 1991 he left for Germany, where three played the season together with Kiryakov, Kan, Bilic for Karlsruhe. He played first in attack, then on the left in midfield. Sergei Kiryakov often scored from his passes. In the last year, Winfried Schaefer put Shmarov in defense, which, as a result, led to the player leaving the team. B moved to Arminia, which at the end of the season left the regional Oberliga for the second Bundesliga. However, the season did not yield anything, and after that he decided to return to Russia. Spartak bought the transfer from Karlsruhe and promptly announced the player for the championship. The 1995 season at Spartak turned out to be successful: 16 goals in 20 matches (3rd place in the scorers' competition). In 1996, after several games of the season, not finding mutual understanding with the new head coach Georgy Yartsev, he left to play in South Korea, where he spent only 3 months (although he signed a contract for 1.5 years). From 1997 to 2001 he played for his native club, which balanced between the first and top divisions. He ended his career at Arsenal Tula in the Second Division, and his 17-year-old son Denis Shmarov also played for Arsenal at the same time. On May 25, 2003, a farewell match between Fakel and Spartak took place in Voronezh. He played half for both teams and scored four goals.

Coaching

At the end of his playing career, he led the Novosibirsk “Chkalovets-1936” for three months, and was trained at High school trainers (HST). From 2006 to 2008, he led the Voronezh team “FCSH-73”, which spent first two seasons in the LFL (MOA Chernozemye), then one season in the Second Division (Center zone) of the Russian Championship. From November 2008 to June 2009 he was the head coach of the Fakel-Voronezh club.

Excerpt characterizing Shmarov, Valery Valentinovich

- Wow! – Stella shouted joyfully. - How does he do this?!
- Do you know him? – I was incredibly surprised, but Stella shook her head negatively.
The young man sat down next to us on the ground and, smiling affectionately, asked:
- Why are you here? This is not your place.
– We know, we were just trying to get to the top! – joyful Stella was already chirping at the top of her lungs. – Will you help us get back up?.. We definitely need to get home quickly! Otherwise, the grandmothers are waiting for us there, and they are also waiting for them, but different ones.
Meanwhile, for some reason, the young man looked at me very carefully and seriously. He had a strange, piercing gaze, which for some reason made me feel awkward.
-What are you doing here, girl? – he asked softly. - How did you manage to get here?
- We were just walking. – I answered honestly. - And so they were looking for them. – Smiling at the “foundlings”, she pointed at them with her hand.
– But you’re alive, aren’t you? – the savior could not calm down.
– Yes, but I’ve been here more than once. – I answered calmly.
- Oh, not here, but “above”! – my friend corrected me, laughing. “We definitely wouldn’t come back here, would we?”
“Yes, I think this will be enough for a long time... At least for me...” I shuddered from the recent memories.
- You must leave here. “The young man said again softly, but more insistently. - Now.
A sparkling “path” stretched from him and ran straight into the luminous tunnel. We were literally pulled in without even having time to take a single step, and after a moment we found ourselves in the same transparent world in which we found our round Leah and her mother.
- Mom, mommy, daddy is back! And Great too!.. - little Leah rolled head over heels towards us, tightly clutching the red dragon to her chest.. Her round little face shone like the sun, and she herself, unable to contain her wild happiness, rushed to her dad and, hanging on him neck, squealing with delight.
I was happy for this family that had found each other, and a little sad for all my dead “guests” who came on earth for help, who could no longer hug each other as joyfully, since they did not belong to the same worlds.. .
- Oh, daddy, here you are! I thought you were missing! And you took it and found it! That's good! – the radiant little girl squealed with happiness.
Suddenly a cloud flew over her happy face, and it became very sad... And in a completely different voice the little girl turned to Stella:
– Dear girls, thank you for dad! And for my brother, of course! Are you going to leave now? Will you come back someday? Here's your little dragon, please! He was very good, and he loved me very, very much... - it seemed that right now poor Leah would burst into tears, so badly she wanted to hold this cute marvelous dragon just a little longer!.. And he was about to be taken away and there will be no more...
– Do you want him to stay with you some more? And when we return, will you give it back to us? – Stella took pity on the little girl.
Leah was at first stunned by the unexpected happiness that had fallen on her, and then, unable to say anything, she nodded her head so strongly that it almost threatened to fall off...
Having said goodbye to the joyful family, we moved on.
It was incredibly pleasant to feel safe again, to see the same joyful light filling everything around, and not be afraid of being unexpectedly grabbed by some kind of terrible nightmare...
- Do you want to take another walk? – Stella asked in a completely fresh voice.
The temptation, of course, was great, but I was already so tired that even if the greatest miracle on earth seemed to me now, I probably wouldn’t be able to truly enjoy it...
- Well, okay, another time! – Stella laughed. - I am also tired.
And then, somehow, our cemetery appeared again, where, on the same bench, our grandmothers were sitting side by side...
“Do you want me to show you something?” Stella asked quietly.
And suddenly, instead of the grandmothers, incredibly beautiful, brightly shining beings appeared... Both had amazing stars sparkling on their chests, and Stella’s grandmother had an amazing miracle crown sparkling and shimmering on her head...
– It’s them... You wanted to see them, didn’t you? – I nodded dumbfoundedly. – Just don’t say that I showed you, let them do it themselves.
“Well, now I have to go...” the little girl whispered sadly. - I can’t go with you... I can’t go there anymore...
- I will definitely come to you! Many, many more times! – I promised with all my heart.
And the little girl looked after me with her warm, sad eyes, and seemed to understand everything... Everything that I was unable to tell her in our simple words.

All the way home from the cemetery, I was sulking at my grandmother for no reason, and, moreover, angry at myself for it... I looked very much like a ruffled sparrow, and my grandmother saw this perfectly well, which, naturally, irritated me even more and forced me to crawl deeper into my “safe shell”.... Most likely, it was just my childhood resentment that was raging because, as it turned out, she was hiding a lot from me and had not yet taught me anything, apparently considering me unworthy or incapable of more. And although my inner voice told me that I was completely and completely wrong here, I could not calm down and look at everything from the outside, as I did before, when I thought that I could be wrong...
Finally, my impatient soul was unable to withstand the silence any longer...
- Well, what did you talk about for so long? If, of course, I can know this...” I muttered offendedly.
“We didn’t talk, we thought,” the grandmother answered calmly, smiling.
It seemed like she was simply teasing me in order to provoke me into some actions that she alone understood...
- Well, then, what were you “thinking” about together? - and then, unable to bear it, she blurted out: - Why does Grandma teach Stella, but you don’t teach me?!.. Or do you think that I’m not capable of anything else?
“Well, first of all, stop boiling, otherwise steam will start coming out soon...” Grandma said calmly again. - And, secondly, - Stella still has a long way to go to reach you. And what do you want me to teach you, if even what you have, you haven’t quite figured it out yet?.. Figure it out - then we’ll talk.
I stared at my grandmother in a daze, as if I was seeing her for the first time... How is it that Stella is so far from me?! She does this!.. She knows so much!.. And what about me? If she did anything, she just helped someone. And I don’t know anything else.

Valery Valentinovich Shmarov- a bright and charismatic Soviet and Russian football player. He was born in 1965 in Voronezh, graduated from school here and studied at the local military aviation technical school (VATU). In his youth and student years, Valery Valentinovich Shmarov began playing football in one of the Voronezh sports schools. His role was already determined then - finally and irrevocably. Attack. This went so well for Valery Shmarov that the young player played his first game for the region’s main team, Fakel, while still studying at VATU. Quite a bit of time passed, and in 1984 the young talent was already noticed Main coach one of the Soviet “superclubs” - Spartak, Konstantin Beskov. The red-whites at that time were experiencing some problems with the attacking line, and therefore the discovery of Valery Valentinovich Shmarov in Voronezh was especially relevant.

But the promising football player was unable to “become a star” that year. The reason is banal and simple - he was drafted into the army. I first had to be listed as a member of the Khabarovsk SKA for six months, and then move to the Central Sports Club of the Army. CSKA at that time was no match for the current leader of the Russian championship, and played in the first division. Once there, Valery Shmarov literally pulled the team along with him, eventually becoming the top scorer of the first division. However, even such a result, a strong place in the main team and the love of the fans could not keep the player, and Valery Valentinovich Shmarov returned to Voronezh. He spends one season with his native Fakel, and then something that was not destined to come true in 1984 comes true... In 1987, Beskov manages to take an already proven football player into his club.

Over the next five years, Valery Shmarov amazed Spartak fans with his focus on goal, efficiency and scoring instinct. Already in the first season of the striker for the “red-whites”, he became the champion of the USSR, and in 1989 he turned into a true hero of the team, scoring a free kick goal in the decisive match with Dynamo Kyiv. Subsequently, loyal Spartak fans told the player that for the joy he gave them that day, they were ready to forgive him anything. Spartak became the champion again. And no more USSR championships were held. Soon such a country no longer existed...

But political conflicts did not bother the football player from Voronezh Valery Valentinovich Shmarov at all. In 1990, he became the top scorer of the new Russian championship, played in the Champions Cup against Maradona himself and his Napoli, and a year later, like many of his colleagues, he left to seek his fortune in Europe. His gaze turned to Germany. However, Valery Shmarov did not find anything truly serious in terms of football there. Half the battle was still average in the German championship Karlsruhe, in which he played for three years, but Arminia, which played in the regional league, clearly did not correspond to the level of the player at that time.

And Valery Shmarov returned to his homeland, spending another season in Moscow Spartak and becoming the country's third scorer as part of its third team. It was this place that Spartak took then. The result is incredibly low for a club that everyone is used to seeing exclusively as champions. This led to the fact that coach Oleg Romantsev was replaced by Viktor Yartsev. However, these changes did not bring joy to Valery Shmarov. His relationship with the head coach did not work out, and the striker ends up in South Korea. He spent very little time there - only a few months, and then returned to his homeland. This time - small. Valery Valentinovich Shmarov plays in Voronezh again. Again - for the Torch.

During the five years the football player played for his home team, anything happened. Fakel made his way to the top division of the Russian championship, and flew out of it, coaches and players changed. But Valery Valentinovich Shmarov played for the club from Voronezh until the very end. And the end finally came. In 2001, the club changed its leadership, logo and even name. The veteran could not bear this and left. He spent his last year as a player at Tula Arsenal.

However, this did not mark the end of Valery Valentinovich’s work for the benefit of football in his native Voronezh. In the capital of the Black Earth Region, he founded the Shmarov Football Center in 2003, and in 2009 he headed Fakel as head coach.

The veteran was not forgotten in Spartak either. In 2003, a friendly match between Fakel and Spartak veterans took place in Voronezh. Valery Shmarov played a half for each team and scored a “poker”.

The personal life of the famous football player is no less successful than his professional one. He is married for the second time and has three children. The eldest son of Valery Valentinovich Shmarov, Denis followed in his father’s footsteps, also becoming a football player.

Valery Shmarov began playing football at the Voronezh sports school with coach Vladimir Evgenievich Nikitenko.

It just so happened that the knowledge and experience of the most titled football player in the history of Voronezh football in his small homeland turned out to be unclaimed. Therefore, last fall Valery Shmarov quietly and unnoticed moved to Moscow, and now he learns news from the capital of the Black Earth Region on the Internet or by calling friends. Now our hero has completely devoted himself to raising his youngest son, Yegor, who shows great promise in the team born in 2003 at the Spartak football academy.

I didn't have to choose

- Valery Valentinovich, what is the main reason that prompted you to leave Voronezh a year ago?

The star in our family is growing and requires attention and conditions for growth. After all, in order for something to grow, you need to water it. The plans are grandiose, but I won’t say anything about it yet: it’s too early. But in Voronezh there are no conditions, and there is no competition. Egor played on my team here two years older and was the best. I no longer saw the point of stagnate in one place.

- Is everything different at the Spartak Academy?

Yes, there is a very strong team there. And the opponents are perfect: CSKA, Dynamo, Lokomotiv.

- How did you choose the team?

There was no choice here. Where else can Yegor Shmarov play if not in Spartak?! We specifically bought an apartment closer to the Spartak Academy, so as not to have to travel far.

- They didn’t call you to work?

Academy President Sergei Rodionov offered to become the head coach of the special class, but I refused. Egor was born in the team in 2003, I am ready to work there as an assistant, but there is no vacancy yet. Our coach was Meleshin, with whom I was very dissatisfied, now he has been transferred to the reserve team to help Pyatnitsky. And we have a new coach Semenov, I haven’t even met him yet, everything was decided just the other day.

- Egor, what is his role?

Of course, the striker. He participated in six tournaments and became the top scorer each time. Now the seventh summer Moscow championship is underway - he is again in first place in terms of goals scored. Although the coach did not play him for the last two games for reasons unknown to me.

- Won’t you overload the child?

This could have been done if Yegor had not been sick of football. And here the person wants it himself. I had the same thing, only Egor can already do much more in football than I did at his age. And I will explain the tactics to him, we constantly move the chips, discuss what and how to do. His shot is good. According to his age, Egor Shmarov is among the top three the best football players Moscow.

- So, will we still see you on the coaching bridge?

Unlikely. Never say never, though. More than once I was invited by friends who became general directors of clubs. But I didn’t go for one reason: now all my attention is on my son...

The full interview with Valery Shmarov can be read in the latest issue of the sports weekly “Player,” which went on sale on August 28.
